Smart menu
Updated this week

Smart Menu is a feature that customises the navigation on the club’s website. When activated, it only displays relevant items for the tab the user is currently in. For example, in the football tab, only football-related menu items will be shown.

This is particularly useful for multi-sport clubs, as it simplifies navigation and makes it easier for visitors to find information about specific sports.

Activate Smart Menu

How to activate the Smart Menu

  1. From the Spond Club page, click Website in the left-hand side menu

  2. Click Settings

  3. Select the Features tab

  4. In the list, find Smart Menu, and click the Enable button

  5. Once the Smart Menu is enabled, you can start creating a smart category from the Pages and Menus option under Website in the left-hand side menu. See the guide for how to use Smart categories.

  7. You can now choose to add different types

  • Add new category: The menu option will appear as its own category within the smart category, allowing you to organise multiple pages under this category.

  • Add new page: These are individual pages that are added under a smart category.

Read more in-depth here about adding a new page.

  • Add new link: Here you can add an external link that will appear as a page under the smart category. It directs users to a specific website, such as the club’s social media or a partner’s site.

The video below shows the difference between a regular category and a smart category. In this example, ‘Rugby’ is a regular category, while ‘Football’ is a smart category.

Frequently asked questions

I have already created one or more categories that I want to convert into smart categories. What should I do?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to convert a regular category into a smart category. However, you can recreate the same category as a smart category. Afterwards, you can either hide or delete the old category from the menu.
