After you've set up and sent a payment request in Spond Club, it's essential to understand the next steps and how to manage them effectively. Here's a comprehensive guide on what to expect and how to handle various scenarios post-payment request.

Before You Start: Set up a Payment Request

First, make sure you've set up your payment request. If you’re not sure how to do this, you can find more info on setting up payment requests here.


Members with the Spond App

Members who have downloaded the Spond app and are in a group will receive a push notification about payment requests. It will look like this:


Members without the Spond App

  • Members with only a phone number registered will receive the payment request via text message.

  • Members who haven’t downloaded the app, or those who have the app but aren’t in a group, will get the notification by email.


Step-by-Step Guide

  • Viewing the Payment Request: Recipients will see a detailed page outlining the payment request they've received, including the amount due and any available options.

  • Selecting Additional Options: Recipients can choose to add any optional items or fees to their payment before proceeding.

  • Completing Payment: Recipients will be prompted to enter their payment card details to complete the transaction.


Reviewing the Status of a Payment Request

In Spond Club, admins have access to a live status view of all payment requests. This view automatically updates to show the amounts outstanding, paid, and past due in real time, using both tables and charts for easy tracking.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the price or exempt a member after sending the payment request?

Yes, you can edit the payment for individual members. Go to the Payment Recipients list in Spond Club, select the member, and use the Edit option next to their active claims to make adjustments, like changing the price or exempting them from the payment.

What happens when a payment is overdue?

If a payment is overdue, the member will receive a reminder notification. You can send extra reminders manually by selecting the member in the payment request overview and clicking Send Reminder.

How can I track payment reminders sent to members?

In the payment request overview, you can see the history of reminders sent to each member, including the number of reminders and the date of the last one sent. This helps you keep track of all communications regarding outstanding payments.

Can I issue refunds if needed?

Yes, you can issue refunds through the Payment Details section for each member. Select the member in the payment overview, choose the payment to refund, and click on the options to process the refund.

What should I do if a member faces issues with the payment?

If a member encounters issues with their payment, guide them to check their card details and try again. If the problem persists, use Spond's Help Center and AI support tools for automated help.
