How do I change my name in my Spond account?

In the Spond App

Within the profile tab, choose 'Edit profile' and press 'Name'. You can now edit the name that is displayed in this section.

On the Desktop Interface

The same options available in the app will appear if you press the profile icon or the picture in the upper right corner.


Why does my name appear differently in a Spond Group?

Your name in the member list may differ to what you have set on your profile. That is because the group administrator can change the name viewed in the group. This does not affect your profile, only the member list in that particular group. Get in touch with the group admin if you wish to change this.


How can I change my Spond password?

In the Spond App:

  • Select 'Edit profile' on your profile tab. You'll be able to create a new password using the 'Change password' option.

On the Desktop Interface:

  • The same options available in the app will appear if you press the profile icon or the picture in the upper right corner.


I've lost my Spond password. How can I reset it?

In the Spond App:

  • Select 'Forgot password?' below the Login button in the app. Spond will send a 4-digit reset code to either your email or phone depending on what you enter. You can add this code in the new screen that comes up. This code is not a temporary new password to help you regain access to your account.

On the Desktop Interface:

  • Go to https://spond.com/forgot-password in the login section. If you enter your email, we will send you a link to your email which you need follow to reset your password. If you enter your phone number, you will be sent to a new page where you can enter your new password and enter the 4-digit code which is sent to your phone.


How do I upload or change my profile picture in the Spond App?

In the Spond App:

  • Within your profile tab, select 'Edit profile' and then enter 'Change profile picture'. This will allow you to directly upload a profile picture or change your current one. You can also change your profile picture by clicking directly on the image (if you already have a profile picture).

On the Desktop Interface:

  • Press the profile icon or the picture in the upper right corner and choose 'Profile'. The same options available in the app will then appear.


How do I change, add or delete my email address in the Spond App?

You can change your primary email, add additional email accounts or delete an old one both in the app and on the web. The ability to add multiple emails is beneficial if you are sent invitations in a different email account than the one that you originally registered with. You will then receive all invitations directly in the app.

In the Spond App:

  • Go to your profile tab (top left corner) and select 'Email'.

  • Add the new email address you would like to use (you need to do this before deleting the old one) and 'Save'.

  • Follow the simple steps in the verification email we will send you.

  • In the Spond App, select 'Email' and select 'Choose as primary email'.

  • If you wish to the delete the old email, simply press this email and select 'Remove'.

On the Desktop Interface:

  • Press your name/profile picture in the upper right corner and choose 'Profile'.

  • Add the new email address you would like to use (you need to do this before deleting the old one) and 'Confirm'.

  • Follow the steps in the verification email we'll send you.

  • Press 'Set as primary' next to the new email.

  • If you wish to the delete the old email, simply press the 'X' next to the email


How do I change the language in the Spond App?

The language in the Spond App follows the language on your smart device and can be changed in your settings

If you wish to change the language in the desktop interface, go to your profile (top right corner) and change the language.


Why can't I login to my Spond account?

If you can't get into your Spond account, there's a couple of things to check:

  1. Are you using the right phone number or email address to login? The same applies if you request a new password; you'll be told that the user is not registered in Spond if the phone number or email address that you enter is incorrect.

  2. Are you using the correct password? Try to reset the password. Read more

How do I change the time and date format in my Spond account?

You can change the time/date format by changing your language by logging in to Spond on the desktop interface. Go to your name in the top right corner then press Profile > Language. UK English will show military time (14:00) and the date format DD/MM/YY, while US English will show 12hr clock (AM/PM) and MM/DD/YY.


What is the meaning of the number displayed on the Spond App icon in my phone?

The number on the Spond app icon in your phone menu, shows the number of pending invitations, new posts, event and comments waiting for your attention.


How can I delete my Spond user account?

We'll be sad to see you go! However, if you're sure, you can delete your Spond user account in two ways"

  1. If you use the Spond App you can go to Profile > Account. Scroll down and select 'Delete account'. You'll be asked to confirm that you understand the consequences. This action can't be undone.

  2. If you don't use the Spond App or you're on a desktop, you can login and delete your account in the browser by going here. The Spond team will remove your contact information and anonymise content you have shared. This action can't be undone.
