Here’s an overview of the transaction fees charged by Spond in different regions. These fees include the costs from our payment partner, Stripe.

Transaction Fee Options

By default, the transaction fee is covered by the club. This means the fee is deducted from the total amount paid, leaving the club with the product price minus the transaction fee.

If the club prefers, they can choose to have members cover the transaction fee. In this case, an extra fee is added to the total price, ensuring the club receives the full product amount after the transaction fee is deducted.

Transaction Fees by Currency

  1. EUR (Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain): 2.5% + €0.20

  2. GBP (United Kingdom): 2.5% + £0.20

  3. USD (United States): 3.29% + $1.00

  4. AUD (Australia): 5% + AU$0.50

  5. CAD (Canada): 5% + CA$0.50

  6. CHF (Switzerland): 2.5% + CHF0.20

  7. NOK (Norway): 2.99% + 2 NOK

  8. DKK (Denmark): 2.5% + 2 kr

  9. SEK (Sweden): 2.5% + 2 kr

How to Handle Transaction Fees

Clubs have two options when collecting payments, such as membership and training fees:

Include the Transaction Fee in the Product Price

  1. How it works: The transaction fee is part of the price members pay. The club receives the product price minus the transaction fee.

  2. Calculation: Product price * percentage fee + fixed fee

  3. Example: For a product costing 1,000 NOK:
    1,000 NOK * 2.99% + 2 NOK = 32 NOK.
The member pays 1,000 NOK, and the club receives 968 NOK after the 32 NOK fee is deducted.

Add the Transaction Fee to the Product Price

  1. How it works: The transaction fee is added to the product price, so the club receives the full amount.

  2. Calculation: (Total price including fee) * percentage fee + fixed fee

  3. Example: If the club wants to receive 1,000 NOK:
    1,033 NOK * 2.99% + 2 NOK = 33 NOK.
The member pays 1,033 NOK, and the club receives 1,000 NOK after the 33 NOK fee is deducted.

Additional Fees for Norwegian Sports Federation (NIF) Reporting

For clubs integrated with the Norwegian Sports Confederation, there is an extra fee of 27 NOK per member for the annual membership fee. This results in a transaction fee of 2.99% + 2 NOK per transaction, plus an additional 27 NOK per member, applied once per year.
