Cancel or edit a recurring event

If you have created a series of recurring events, you can easily edit or delete the entire series. Follow the usual steps to edit or delete an event. After clicking on Edit, you can choose between "Edit only this event" and "Edit this and all future events".

This allows you to edit or delete just one of the events without affecting the rest of the series.

You can find the procedure here.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change who appears as the sender on the invitation for a recurring event?

The sender of invitations for a recurring event is determined by the order of the hosts. The person listed first will appear as the sender when invitations are sent out. To change the sender, you need to change the order of the hosts, and how this is done depends on which platform you are using.

In the web version of Spond

Click here to go to the web version of the Spond app.
To change who appears as the sender of invitations, you must edit one or all occurrences of the recurring event. The order of hosts cannot be changed directly. You therefore need to remove hosts and add them again in the desired order.

For example, if you want the third person in the list to be the sender, you must first remove the hosts listed above them by clicking the "x". Then add those hosts again afterwards and click Save.

If you want to add a new host who should also be the sender, all existing hosts must be removed first. Then add the new host so they appear as the sender, add the remaining co-hosts again, and click Save.

On iPhone

The same principle applies, but without using an "x".

When editing hosts, all group administrators are shown in the list. Hosts that are already selected are marked.

To change the sender, first unselect all hosts. Then select the person who should be the sender, followed by selecting the remaining hosts who should be co-hosts.

Finish by tapping Done, and then Save.

On Android

Although it is possible to change the order of hosts in the Spond app on Android, this does not affect which name appears as the sender on the invitation.

To change the sender name, you must use the web version of Spond.

Is it possible to repeat a monthly event on a specific day of the week?

It's not possible for an event to be repeated every 4 weeks, e.g. the last Friday of every month. It's only possible to repeat weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Why can't I see the option to edit or delete all events in the series?

If the person who created a series leaves the group or is deleted without a new person being added as an admin, the series will be converted to a single event and the group manager must delete one event at a time.

I receive an error message when I try to create a recurring event, why?

Check if you've entered time zone in your profile, if you'ven't selected a time zone you'll receive an error message and it won't be possible to use the recurring event function.
