Password policy
At Spond, we take security seriously and work continuously to protect our users. To ensure user safety, Spond requires all profiles to have a secure password. A strong password helps keep your account safe and reduces the risk of unauthorised access.
To protect your Spond profile, your password must meet certain security requirements. It must:
Contain at least 8 characters, but no more than 64 characters
Include at least two of the following:
Uppercase letters (A–Z)
Lowercase letters (a–z)
Numbers (0–9)
Special characters (!, @, #, etc.)
When resetting or changing your password, you cannot reuse a previously used password
For the best security, we recommend choosing a unique password that is not used for other services. Users with a password considered weak will be prompted to update it to a stronger one upon login. Currently, this requirement applies only to Spond Club.
Additionally, we encourage all users to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra protection.
Issues receiving the SMS code when logging in (2FA)
Have you activated two-step verification or tried to add your phone number to your Spond profile but not received a verification SMS? This could be due to several factors.
You can try the following steps
You can try the following steps
Not receiving an SMS. In some cases, it may take a little time for the SMS to be delivered. If you have not received the SMS within 5 minutes, we recommend waiting 15–20 minutes before requesting a new SMS.
Still not receiving the SMS after repeated attempts with 15–20 minute intervals.
It may be that your phone number has been blocked by our SMS provider, or that our sender has been blocked by your mobile operator. Cases like this can take time to resolve, depending on where the issue lies, either with us or with your operator. If this applies to you, please contact us and we will investigate the situation further. If the issue is urgent, we recommend creating a new Spond profile or being added in Spond Club using a different email address, without enabling 2FA.
Please note that if you create a new Spond App profile, you must be invited to your groups again or regain access using the group code or group link. Once the issue with your phone number has been resolved, you can merge your Spond App profiles.
Filtered SMS
In some cases, the SMS containing the verification code may be marked as spam or junk by the user’s mobile network or phone. The message may then be filtered out, moved to a separate folder, or hidden from the main inbox (which can make it appear as if the SMS was not received). In such cases, we recommend checking your spam/junk folder to see if the SMS has been delivered there.
