With Spond Discover, you can find activities and clubs in your area. If you want to try a new sport or find a new community, everything is in one place.

You can filter by location and activity type. If you find something interesting, you sign up directly, without contacting the club first. Clubs present themselves with a description, contact information and the activities they offer, so you know what to expect before you sign up.

💡Spond Discover is currently in beta and available in selected locations in the UK and Norway.

How to find Spond Discover

You can find Spond Discover at spond.com/discover.

The Spond app

In the Spond app, you'll also find a button that takes you directly to Spond Discover. The button is in the top right corner of the home screen.

How to find activities or clubs

Once you're in Spond Discover, there are several ways to find activities that suit you. You can explore the map, use filters, search for something specific, or see all activities or clubs in a particular city.

Below the heading, you'll see two tabs. Which one you choose decides what's shown in the list.

Events shows events in and near the city you've chosen, for example London.
Clubs shows clubs in the city you've chosen. Click a club to read about it. If the club has events on Spond Discover, you'll find them on the club page. Click the event to sign up.

Choose a city or location

At the top of the page, you can quickly narrow down the activities by choosing a city or using your current location.

Search or choose an activity

You can also search directly for what you're looking for, or choose an activity from the list. Scroll to see more activities.

💡You can only choose one activity at a time.

Explore the map

The map on the right shows where the activities are held. The number in a circle tells you how many events are in that area. If you zoom in, the circles split up until you see each event on its own.

Drag the map to move around. Use the plus and minus buttons in the bottom right to zoom in and out.

How to open an event from the map

Click a marker on the map.
Choose an event from the list that appears. The list shows the name, activity, age group, level, date and price, if any.
This takes you to the event page, where you'll find the organiser, location and registration deadline, and can sign up.

💡 On the event page, you can also use these two buttons:
- Share: Send the link to the event to others, for example by email or message.
- Add to calendar: Add the event to Google Calendar.

How to join an event or a club

Whether you're on an event page or a club page, click Join us. What happens next depends on how the club has set up sign-up. You'll either go to a form from the club, or join directly in Spond Discover with your Spond profile.

Fill out the club's form

If the club has set up sign-up with its own form, you'll go straight to the form. Choose the options you want. Then follow the steps on the screen.

If the club has set up sign-up in the Spond app, you'll join directly in Spond Discover. You'll need a Spond profile for this.

💡 If you already have a Spond profile, we recommend logging in with it. This makes signing up quicker.

If you have a Spond profile, enter your login details and log in.

If you don't have a profile, create a new one:

Click Create a new account.
Enter your first name, last name, date of birth and email address.
Choose a password, and enter it again to confirm it.
Optional: Tick the box if you'd like to receive tips, offers and updates by email.
Click Continue.

What you see next depends on who the activity is for:

Adults only: You'll see Confirm your details. Check your details. These can only be changed in the app. Tick to confirm, and click Continue.
Children only: You'll see Your child's details. Enter your child's first name, last name and date of birth. Check your details, tick to confirm, and click Continue.
Adults and children: You'll be asked who is taking part. Select Myself to sign up as an adult, or My child to sign up your child as their parent/guardian. You'll then see the same form as above.

Clubs without a Join us button

Some clubs don't have a Join us button. This is because the club isn't accepting new members right now. Scroll to the bottom of the club page to see the contact details. You can get in touch with the club there if you have any questions.

Search and filter among the results

Type a word into the search field, for example ‘dance’, and you'll see events or clubs that contain the word. Click All filters to see all the options. The buttons give you quick choices. Click the arrow on the right to see more filters.

Click All filters to open the menu. You can combine several filters, and they're only applied once you click Show results.

These filters are in both the Events tab and the Clubs tab in the All filters menu:

Age group: Choose one or more: juniors, adults or mixed.
Skill level: Choose one or more: all levels, beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional.

Only in the Events tab:

Date: Choose this week, next 30 days or next 3 months.
Price: Choose free or paid.

Only in the Clubs tab:

Membership: Choose Open for sign-up to only see clubs that are accepting new members.
Club type: Choose Spond only to see just the clubs that use Spond. Some clubs are listed on Spond Discover without using Spond, and you'll only see them without this filter.
Membership fee: Choose free or paid.

💡Click the arrow next to a filter to show or hide the options.

Choose Show results in the bottom right to apply the filters. If you want to start over, click Clear all in the bottom left.

Choose the order of the results

Choose which order the results should be in. By default, it's set to Newest added. Click the button to choose a different order.

Filter by distance

Choose how far away you want to see results. By default, the distance is set to 25 km. Click the button to choose a different distance: 5, 10, 50 or 100 km.

Filter by clubs that are open for sign-up (only in the Clubs tab)

Click Membership and tick Open for sign-up to only see clubs that are accepting new members. This filter option is only in the Clubs tab.

Filter by date (only in the Events tab)

Click Date to only see events in a specific period: this week, next 30 days or next 3 months. By default, Date is selected, and then events are shown regardless of date. If you want to remove a period, choose Date again.
This filter option is only in the Events tab.

Filter by age group

Click Age group and tick one or more groups: juniors, mixed or adults. This shows only results for the groups you've chosen. Mixed means both juniors and adults can take part.

Filter by skill level

Click Skill level and tick one or more levels: all levels, beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional. This shows only results for the levels you've chosen.

Clear all filters

Once you've chosen one or more filters, the Clear All button appears on the far right. Click it to clear all the choices at once and start over.

Register your club on Spond Discover

If you manage a club or a community, you can get it listed on Spond Discover. Click List my club in the top right and fill out the form. We'll get in touch with you to add it.

How to fill out the form to list your club on Spond Discover

Choose Spond club if the club uses Spond, or Non-Spond club if it doesn't.
Enter the club name.
Enter your full name.
Enter the email address and phone number of the person we should contact at the club.
Choose whether you'd prefer to be contacted by email or phone.
Choose your role in the club (only shown if you've chosen Non-Spond club).
Optional: Choose where you heard about Discover.
Click Submit.
