Guidance for Club admins on how to manage bank accounts for group admins in Spond Club

Using Spond Club, you can now control which bank accounts group admins can access and manage. This gives you greater control over payments in your club accounts. Currently, this feature is only available for regular payments, not digital fundraising campaigns.


How It Works

  • You can set this under Club Settings > Club Account.

  • Once you add an account number, you can toggle access for each account as follows:

    • No groups

    • All groups

    • Selected groups

  • For example, you could assign one account per group or per sport if you are a multi-sports club. Settlements from Spond groups will be included in the exports in Spond Club under Finance, allocated to the correct bank account. Group transactions will be organised with a tab for each group.

  • If a group has previously used a different payout account for each admin, they will no longer need these. The group administrator must change the payment method in ongoing payments/events to the club's payment account and delete the old payment method they set up.

NOTE: You cannot delete a payment method until all funds have been paid out. To expedite payouts, set the frequency to daily. The group administrator should also export the payment history to retain access to it afterwards.

How do I assign a bank account to specific groups in Spond Club?

Navigate to Club Settings > Club Account, add the account number, and then toggle access to the account for either no groups, all groups, or selected groups. This allows you to customise which groups can use each account.

What should a group administrator do if they previously used their own payout account?

The group administrator needs to update the payment method in ongoing payments/events to the club's designated payment account. They should then delete their old payment method once all funds have been paid out. Remember to export the payment history before deleting the old method to keep a record.

Can I delete a payment method immediately?

No, you cannot delete a payment method until all the funds have been fully paid out. To facilitate faster payouts, you can set the payout frequency to daily.

How are group transactions organised in the Spond Club Finance exports?

Group transactions are listed with a separate tab for each group in the Finance exports. This ensures that settlements from Spond groups are accurately allocated to the correct bank account.
